Roots of Pop Music

We can not talk about music without the blues. Today, pop music is widely listened all over the world in our daily life. There are many different types of music available such as Techno, funk, Hip-hop, Rap, Country, Folk, Rock, Punk, Heavy Metal, Rock & Roll and many more. Music keeps evolving and it did not just come into this world all of a sudden. The music has a history. But I am not talking about that old history and it is maybe just a little older than the time when The Beatles had become popular. I am talking about 12-Bar blues, the roots of today’s pop music.

Robert Johnson is the pioneer of the blues music. Many blues artists are influenced by Robert Johnson. Of course I did not know him before I discovered the blues. I used to believe that Eric Clapton's music was the blues as many other young generations would have thought the same. But he was just one of those who were influenced by many blues musicians and Eric Clapton has made the blues music popular. I just love the sound and feeling of the blues. It is spontaneous and such a simple music but it can be very emotional. Every blues musician is very unique and has own distinctive style. I love all kinds of music but the blues always comes first.
